Thinkistan-The contemporary slice of life
Couldn't be a better subject to kickstart my blog. Wonder how and why I missed/ignored this quiet hidden gem of a series!! And now it is one of my favourites. Thinkistan,a 2019 series on MX Player is a delightful watch.Set in the 90s over a period of 7 to 8 years,the story, characters, situations and performances are extremely relatable.One can find many real life people one has met or known at some point in time in the characters To be realistic a story need not be neccessarily set in dark alleys,underworld and gangsters.A simple,breezy tale set in an advertising agency can be as real and effective if made well.It does touch upon sensitive issues like sexual harrassment at work and homophobia to name a few.But nothing seems forced or overtly done.Barring a few hiccups,the narrative flows well and smoothly.Ofcourse it has its loose ends.But I seriously believe perfection is a myth😊 Thinkistan could well be termed as a sort of contemporary slice of life...
