Sardar Udham:Stories every Indian must know

Image
Sardar Udham:Stories every Indian needs to know Stories which are meant to be told. Stories which are meant to be heard. Not to evoke any feelings of hatred but to make us aware and to realise the cost of freedom.Freedom which we take so much for granted, does not and did not come easy. We need to know more about the people who laid down their lives without raising an eyebrow for the country. Our current and coming generations need to know more about those people, the right kind of heroes. Sardar Udham is the story of a man's relentless journey to track down the person responsible for the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre. One of the most cowardly and barabaric act of British cruelty in history which,as Udham tells Inspector Swain, has been added just as a footnote in history. The magnanimity of the horror can never be measured. The onscreen depction gives you goosebumps!! Shoojit Sarcar has created a masterpiece.Poignant, hard hitting and impactful. Vicky Kaushal ...

Bell Bottom

Image
Bell Bottom-Not living up to the interesting title Bell Bottom is a very interesting sounding espionage thriller where, sadly, the thrill element is missing for most part of the duration. Based on some real life hijacking incidents from late 70s and early 80s,what could have been an intriguing thriller, turns out quite predictable and bland with just the last 15 or 20 minutes providing some thrill and action. Akshay Kumar seems very repetitive and monotonous in his portrayal of RAW agent Anshul code name Bell Bottom.Lara Dutta makes a very unconvincing Indira Gandhi while Vani Kapoor is there but hardly there.Huma Qureshi has an interesting role but hardly 10 minutes screen time. Dolly Ahluwalia and Adil Hussain are probably the only two actors who make a mark. A thriller works on pace and intriguing screenplay which are the major minus points of Bell Bottom. The insipid and unimpressive songs further hamper the momentum.A wasted effort on a favourite genre. Sanak-Action and thrill all the way

Image
Sanak-Disney Hotstar Sanak is a typical Vidyut Jammwal actioner laden with frame after frame of kickass action and thrills. A thrilling hostage drama and action thriller,Sanak is about a common man fighting to save his wife and others from a hostage situation in a hospital under siege. As far as action is concerned Vidyut Jammwal is second to none and he has proved that with each of his movies. It is a film not meant for critics and reviewers who are always sitting with hawks eyes to pull down and criticise a film without going into the efforts and hardwork put in by the cast and crew.It is film to be enjoyed shutting down the minute analysis system. Yes many movies deserve to be criticised but then they are made mindlessly even though all resources are available to them. But in this case it is a talented action star  very obviously a victim of industry politics and star system and dearth of offers from the so called big names of the industry, yet who has managed to stay...

Image
Shiddat:Streaming on Disney Hotstar There's something about Shiddat!! A tale of crazy intense love. A man, inspired by another man's philosophy of love whose wedding he had gate crashed, embarks on a crazy, perilous journey in pursuit of wooing his lady love,a girl who is not even sure of her feelings for him and is about to get married to someone else. And in this track of single minded pursuit,he again comes accross the man who had inspired him few years back. But this time around it is he who inspires his idol to salvage his marriage which is on the verge of falling apart. Sunny Kaushal is bang on as Jaggi the small town lad.Natural and effortless, same qualities as big brother Vicky Kaushal albeit both different in approach and performances. The body language and expression, over enthusiastic, high strung emotions and the "chhichhorapanti".In contrast is Mohit Raina's Gautam. Serious,Sophisticated Indian Foreign Service Officer. The film works mainly on...
