As beautiful and fascinating as the jungles and hills are,many a times they hold sinister stories too.

Aranyak traces the tracks of what looks like a serial killing which takes place in the hilly town of Sironha just when SHO Kasturi Dogra(Raveena Tandon) is about to go for a one year leave and is handing over the charge to replacement officer Angad Malik(Parambrata Chattopadhyay).

Ultimately both end up investigating the case together.

As they delve deeper they are astounded by the things which keep coming to the fore one after the other also hitting closer home entangling their families as well.

Drugs,politics,sexual offences and folk myths of the jungles.

Even though the story telling and plot are not really new and we have seen similar and well made shows like Bhram,Candy and The Last Hour on similar lines,Aranyak makes for an interesting watch leading you through intriguing twists and turns of crime and suspense.

Raveena Tandon in her OTT debut,is first rate as the small town Police SHO,handling the rustic and local look and lingo well.

Parambrata Chattopadhyay is an effortless actor.Somebody who doesn't need stylised acting or over the top mannerisms to make an impact.His simple,natural and straight forward performances always hit the point.

One heartening observation that the lead players are not made to mouth profanitities which has become the norm of web shows otherwise.

Aranyak also features Ashutosh Rana, Meghna Malik,Indraneel Sengupta, Zakir Hussain,Lalit Parimoo, Mahesh Shetty,Taneesha Joshi,Vivek Madaan, Ana Ador,Breshna Khan,Priyanka Setia,Milind Shinde,Tejaswi Dev Chaudhry and others.
