Hungama 2-Hungama sans much noise
Hungama 2
Borrowing some elements from his Hindi film debut Muskurahat, some doses of Hungama and adding some dashes of Gulzar's Parichay,Priyadarshan has created a very disappointing mishmash called Hungama 2.
It does evoke a few laughs here and there, but mostly annoying. And at 2 hrs 35 mins it is too lengthy and a pain to sit through specially towards the end with too many characters, situations, plots and sub-plots.
Ashutosh Rana does try to hold fort amid the mayhem with his balanced performance and screen presence.
Meezan and Pranitha Subhash are competent but badly let down by poorly created characters and aimless direction.
And why would Shilpa Shetty make a comeback in a role which looks like a glorified version of what Upasna Singh played in Hungama, the first of this franchise,is beyond me!!
Paresh Rawal is highly irritating with his mumbling and looks lost throughout.
Manoj Joshi,Rajpal Yadav,Johnny Lever add nothing new with their poorly written repetitive parts.
The film looks like it is directed and written by too different many people in parts.
The dialogues are of extremely poor and low level. The movie ends with so many things just left unexplained. And Akshaye Khanna is wasted in such a terrible cameo!!
This is one damp squib of a Hungama!!
